Sylvie Bourassa received her LL.B. in civil law from Universite du Quebec a Montreal. She received her LL.M. in Health Care Law from Universite de Sherbrooke and her Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie Law School. Ms. Bourassa is a Registered Nurse.
Ms. Bourassa is admitted to practice in New York. She is also a member of the California bar (voluntary inactive status). She is fluent in French.
Ms. Bourassa is a member of the Quebec Bar, the Law Society of Upper Canada and of the Law Society of Saskatchewan (voluntary inactive status). She practiced law in Canada for several years, mostly in Quebec. In Canada, she worked on civil mass actions representing plaintiffs in the Canadian Indian Residential Schools’ cases involving aboriginal students alleging physical and sexual abuse.
