June 8, 2018 — Barbara Hart of Lowey Dannenberg, P.C. and Garden City Group hosted a Women in Power luncheon titled “Conscious Risk Taking as the Key to Success”. In attendance were about sixty mid to senior level women from various industries.
There were two very accomplished speakers who shared their personal experiences with conscious risk taking and how that ultimately led to their success.
Our first panelist, Trish Adlesic, the Director of the HBO documentary “I am Evidence” which exposes the backlog of untested rape kits throughout the US. Ms. Adlesic also produced and directed the academy award nominated “Gasland” about Fracking and was the show runner and producer of Law and Order SVU for well over a decade. Ms. Adlesic is clearly an accomplished woman in the film industry and shares a commitment to the advancement of women’s rights.
Our second panelist, Elizabeth Cabraser, a champion and advocate for women’s rights. For four decades, Elizabeth Cabraser has fought to advance and preserve justice in hundreds of complex consumer fraud, securities, personal injury, employment, environmental, and antitrust cases across America.
All proceeds from the event went to the Joyful Heart Foundation, an organization dedicated to victims’ rights and comprehensive rape kit reform in all 50 states.
