Lowey Dannenberg Cohen & Hart, P.C. Appointed As Interim Lead Counsel In Title Insurance Case

White Plains, New York, May 6, 2010 - Finding that Lowey Dannenberg has “substantial experience in handling class actions and complex litigation” and “has ample knowledge of the applicable law pertaining to the RESPA claims it has brought on behalf of its clients”, the Honorable Thomas C. Platt of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York today, appointed Lowey Dannenberg as Interim Lead Counsel in charge of prosecuting a nationwide putative class of persons who purchased title insurance from many of the nation’s largest title insurers. Lowey Dannenberg’s clients in the action contend that these insurers engaged in an illegal campaign of paying kickbacks to title agents in violation of the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act of 1974.
